Care and Tank Setup

Cerith Snails are small enough for nano tanks yet useful in large systems, where bigger packs cover more sand and glass. Add them to a cycled tank and let them roam; they move between the sand bed, rockwork and glass on their own schedule. Many keepers find they also help on cyanobacteria and on the sand surface.

Supplement with algae wafers or dried seaweed if algae runs short. Drip acclimate slowly, and keep copper out of the tank. Ceriths can right themselves if flipped, and in a healthy tank they sometimes spawn.

Tank Mates

Ceriths are fully reef safe and live peacefully with corals, shrimp and community reef fish. They complement rock grazers like the Astraea Snail and Black Margarita Snail. If you keep hermits such as the Blue Knuckle Hermit Crab, provide a few spare shells. Avoid puffers, triggers and other snail eaters.
