Care and Tank Setup

Ocellaris Clownfish do well in a cycled saltwater tank of 20 gallons or more with live rock, moderate flow and stable water quality. They do not need an anemone to thrive, but many captive-bred clowns will host one, or adopt a coral or a corner of the rockwork as home. If you add an anemone, wait until the tank is mature and the lighting is strong. Feed small amounts two or three times a day. A pair usually stays close together, and the larger fish becomes the female.

Tank Mates

These peaceful clowns get along with most reef-safe community fish. Good choices include the Royal Gramma and small gobies like our new Firefish Goby.
